Mein lieber Rainer,

der Kleine ruht sich gerade ein wenig aus. Er hat sich auf eine dieser Bänke fallen lassen und die Augen kurz geschlossen. Eine kleine Pause macht er. Wie alle Kinder fällt er einfach so - von jetzt auf gleich - in einen tiefen, schweren Schlaf. Man kann ihnen so wundervoll beim Schlafen zusehen. Als hätten sie augenblicklich jedweden Kontakt zur Außenwelt verloren, sacken sie in sich zusammen. Nur der Brustkorb hebt und senkt sich im Rhythmus des Atems. Das sieht immer so friedlich aus.

Ich bewundere diesen Jungen. Wie er da ohne weiter nachzudenken das fremde Mädchen retten will. Wie er sich voller Eifer in dieses Labyrinth bizarrer Prüfungen stürzt. Ganz selbstverständlich greift er nach ihrer Hand und lässt sie nie wieder wirklich los. Manchmal zerrt er an ihr, manchmal ist sie sehr langsam. Aber er hält ihre Hand so fest, dass sie ihm folgen kann. Dieser Moment, in dem er sie an die Hand nimmt: So viel Zuwendung in einer kleinen Geste. Als sie das erste Mal über einen tiefen Abgrund springt und ihm dabei gänzlich vertraut. Dass ein kleiner Junge so viel Zuversicht in einem anderen Menschen wecken kann.

Ganz selbstverständlich greift er nach ihrer Hand und lässt sie nie wieder wirklich los.

Diese zwei Kinder umgeben von einer stummen und monströsen Übermacht sind ganz alleine. Ich weiß nicht, ob irgendeiner von ihnen wirklich gerettet werden wird. Ob es überhaupt eine Rettung für sie gibt. Er erwacht in stickigem Stein, in einem Werk der Unmenschlichkeit: Proportionen, einst an einer übermenschlichen Skala bemessen. Selbst als sie endlich das Licht des Tages sehen und den Wind an ihrer Haut spüren können, ist die Sonne fremd und der Luftzug verräterisch.

Die Welt um sie bleibt endlos und zeitlos. Vielleicht ist das aber auch nur meine Sehnsucht nach meiner eigenen Kindheit, die - hätte sie ewig gedauert - genauso verdammt gewesen wäre.
